Host for the GRAMMY Music Education Coalition Twitch Livestream

eSports And Music Stars Come Together For Grammy Music Education Coalition Twitch “Stream To Make Music Matter”

Debut Twitch Stream to fund the expansion of K-12 public school music education programs

The GRAMMY Music Education Coalition strives to help music education become a gateway to bridging the gap to improve access for all. To help bridge this gap, the GRAMMY Music Education Coalition has partnered with Morgan Stanley Sports & Entertainment Group and Columbia Records, the first major record label to create a Twitch Studio, to bring this one of a kind event to life. 

The “Stream to Make Music Matter” is a live-streamed event intended to drive awareness of the need to support music education in under-served public schools. On Tuesday, November 12th at 6pm ET viewers will be able to interact and donate to fund the expansion of music education programs to the 3.8 million K-12 students in the US currently without access.  

“Stream to Make Music Matter” is an epic event that includes an all-star Fortnite squad session and interviews from a variety of guests, all in support of funding music education.

The “Stream to Make Music Matter” event will include:

  • An All-Star Squad lineup led by a dynamic duo from the music and eSports space. Join The Chainsmokers’ Drew Taggart as he skydives into a Fortnite gaming session with FaZe Clan’s Nate Hill and other eSports talent! Twitch Partner LunaLyrik will be the hosts as fans have a chance to interact with Twitch and Music celebrities. 
  • The GRAMMY Award-Winning Chainsmokers have reshaped the indie, dance, and pop music landscape by churning out a streak of platinum hits. 
  • Nate Hill is a triple threat superstar in the making as a Pro Fortnite Player and member of the world’s most popular eSports team FaZe Clan, a fashion model for Ralph Lauren, Gap, and NIKE and as an aspiring singer-songwriter  
  • Donate in order to win Chances to donate and win specialty offerings from signed merchandise from Imagine Dragons and Maren Morris to special VIP concert experiences from Hozier, The Chainsmokers and Joyner Lucas, as well as giveaway items including high-end streaming cameras from PTZOptics, wireless Dolby Dimension headphones, and Poly RIG 500 PRO eSports Edition headset and the BackBeat PRO 5100 True Wireless earbuds. 
  • Proceeds will go towards funding music education in underserved and underfunded public schools. Specific funding will go towards learning technologies, instructional materials and curriculum, coaching and mentoring professional development, and more.
  • Conversations with GRAMMY-nominated music producer Louis Bell and eSports host Jennifer “Narz” Vargas discussing Louis’ path to success in the music business and his perspective on music production, with a visit from hip-hop star Joyner Lucas. 
  • Louis Bell, the new King of Pop music production, is the man behind mega-hits like Post Malone’s “Rockstar” and “Sunflower” and “Havana” from Camila Cabello. Louis made it into an exclusive club by becoming one of only three producers in the history of Billboard to have 20 songs on the Top 100 charts simultaneously.
  • Joyner Lucas, a dedicated philanthropist, innovator, and entrepreneur just launched a groundbreaking SONY backed music app called Tully. His recent releases with other notables like Eminem and Chris Brown have received over 100 Million views on YouTube. 

This experience takes place on Tuesday, November 12, starting at 6 pm ET. Come witness music and eSports collide. “Stream to Make Music Matter” on a new Twitch channel created by the GRAMMY Music Education Coalition, a coalition of over 60 organizations dedicated to music education.

The World Health Organization (WHO) recently added a new “Gaming Disorder” diagnosis, described as a pathological addiction to video games. Breaking things down and offering an alternative perspective, is Psychology and Data Analytics expert in eSports and video games, as well as the founder of GirlGamerVogue.com, Narz.

In this exclusive podcast interview led by GGT Founder Adesina “Desi” Sanchez, Narz explains the psychology behind video game design, how it intersects with Positive Psychology, and offers advice to those who are dealing with an overuse of video games, as well as a less pathological view of why young people are so drawn to them.

My Most Epic E3 Experience Ever

Before we get into the actual industry event, let’s start off with where I stayed with my partner in crime @ZuneGirl! My beautiful home away from home in downtown Los Angeles was nearby everything! It just so happened we were also down the street from the SONY press conference! We didn’t even need to attend it. The AirBnb included access to the pool and jacuzzi which was surrounded by foliage! See below for the view outside our window into the atrium and pool!

On the First Night..

It was honestly a blur of after parties way before the doors opened! YouTube Gaming’s after party location was incredibly beautiful but there was no open bar and no food. For such a big company, you’d think they would really make an impression?

The PUBG party was incredible with catering from all over the world and unlimited cocktails based on different landing zones in the game! I got to mingle with some incredibly talented Twitch and Mixer Streamers. I arrived at the party in style accompanied by the handsome gentleman and Mixer Partner Backdraft.

Facebook Gaming Party was quite possibly the most shocking event of the night! With Instagram booths to take the most iconic photos, Oculus Rift games available to play, unlimited drinks and food, tons of space in a giant theater in downtown Los Angeles you wonder how could it get better?

BUT IT DID! Out came the famous dance group the Jabbawockeez performing some of the most popular songs. But Facebook Gaming wasn’t done spoiling us….oh no.. They got DJ Khalid up in here! I legit lost it. 🤣

Our First Day At E3

So how does the FABulous Narz start her first day at E3? By being VIP at the Fortnite Arena! 😎 ZuneGirl and I stayed in the shade during the outside Fortnite Arena event overlooking the entire tournament. Some of the biggest celebrities like Xavier Woods, Marshmellow, Pokimane, and Ninja participated in the tournament.

The weather was literally unbearable. I can’t even imagine how the viewers or the players in the sun were handling it. Regardless, the event was streamed on YouTube, Facebook, Mixer, and Twitch accumulating over 1.5 Million max concurrent views across multiple channels! Ridiculous!

Day Turns To Night

We end up heading over to the Mixer Mixer where we see some old friends from the Mixer NYC Studio where we use to work at. We then group up and then head over to the official Fortnite After Party! Possibly the best after party at E3 and only 2nd best to Twitch Con’s 2017 after party.

What ends up happening can be easily described by the collage of photos below for your viewing pleasure. Yes, there were pinatas and toilets all over the Fortnite after party. YES, I bumped in Hai Lam. 😍

Our 2nd Day at E3

We make our way to the center for Day 2 having not set foot on the floor on the first day.  We made our way around the floor saying hi to friends and such.

Our Last Day

Honestly, the entire week went by so quickly and most of the time my phone was dead. (haha I need a portable charger…) All in all, this year E3 was by far worth every penny and effort going. I met so many contacts and amazing people it blew my mind away.

Thank you to all the Mixer staff and streamers that showed me so much compassion and love! Thank you to everyone who took time to see me during the hectic week!

I have been on Twitch for over 4 1/2 years and never could I have imagined I could get affiliate. Honestly, recent changes to their partnership programs have made it easier to understand what I needed to do to qualify. Now as an affiliate, I am super motivated to work harder (with my best buddy Cresta Star) to get partnered!

What does it mean to be Twitch Affiliate?

An affiliate is someone who has been invited by the live streaming platform Twitch to monetize their live streams. Affiliates can start earning revenue on their channels via Bits or subs. Affiliates can also earn revenue from the sale of games and in-game items that originate from their channel page. The next step for an Affiliate is to get partnered which increases the percentage of profits received from all revenue sources mentioned above.
